All humans has an internal drive to go forward. For animals it is enough to live this moment without to know of future. For humans it is not enought. We want to go forward to reach something. Wherefrom do it gome ? Let see it from Bible.God is creator; and also today. He had big dreams to create the earth and humans on it. He had and has plans, utopies visons to go forward; to reach something special. God is always looking forward to reach the aim, to win the evil and to have humans with him in the planned aim. God had a very big risk and challenge as He created humans, because we can decide ourselves to choose right or wrong ways; do we go forward to the right or wrong direction.
What kind is then the humans nature ? Genesis 1:27: ”So God created man in his own image.” and Genesis 5:1: ”When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.” So our nature is like Gods nature: we want to go forward, we have plans, utopias, visions, dreams for the future. We want to have challenges and competitions. We want to win. For example: what more difficult and challenging computer game we play that more happy we are, as we win the game. We want to be also creators: being innovative, making art, composing music etc. All these means, that we want to go forward. After this, we must have a very important question: have we the right direction ?
However, we can be wounded, we have heavy experiences and we are stressed. These all can cover our internal will to go forward. It can make us passive, weak and hopeless. We do not see any aim in our life. Also, the right direction can change to wrong one. For example, when your life was very lonely in your childhood, you wat to replace it someway, so it can result bad friendships and wrong direction. If you feel, that anyone recognise you enough, you wat to be famous and it results again the wrong direction. By compensating your previous experiences and having the will to go forward, you can choose wrong.
Paulus was very active man. He had a big vision to reach something significant as having a war against ’evil’: Acts 29:9: ”I too was convinced that I ought to do all that was possible to oppose the name of Jesus of Nazareth.” As we see, the direction was not right. Thank God, his activity continues, as Jesus shows the right direction to him. Same way we can have a will to go forward but to the wrong direction. It can destroy our future: Hebr 3:13: ”… so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” For this reason, it is very important to seek the right direction from God by praying and reading Bible.
How then to find the right direction ? When having Jesus as our master and asking Holy Spirit to guide us, it is possible: Romans 8:14: ”Because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” As we spend time by thinking God’s will and having a sensitive conscience, Holy Spirit can correct our directions: Isaiah 30:21: ”Whether you turn to the right or to the left, you ears will hear a voice behind you saying: ’This is the way; walk in it’. ” We must have the will to confess our mistakes and correct our direction as required.
We are not alone, to find the right way. Jesus said to the disciples in John 15:15: ”I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father, I have made known to you.” It means, that we are walking and discussing with Jesus. The result is, that our will find the same direction as Jesus will. We are actually not slaves, who only wait commands, but we can find the same will and same direction to go forward as Holy Spirit. One example in Acts 15:28: ”It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to …” We need not to press down our own will and correcting the direction without to understand, why. Actually, we find the original vision and dream, which God had created in us. We can find the harmony between our will and God’s will.
Then you can ask the next very big questions: Where we are going ? As going forward, what is the goal ? The simple answer is ’Heaven’ but what it means ? What are we doing there ? What is our purpose there ? Peter had the same question, as discussing with Jesus: Matth. 19:27: ”Peter answered him: We have left everything to follow you. What then will there be for us ? ” What is the meaning of the all dreams and visions, we have now ? Mostly these are keeping unfinished as we die. Has this ’God’s nature’ any meaning as we are in Heaven ?
One interesting example: My own father lived last day laying in bed in big pains. However, he tells me: ”This is the university of God”. He understood that our life on the earth is studying and practising. After we graduated at god’s university, we can carry out our real dreams and visions, which God had given to us. The same principle is written in Bible, as the master gives the talents to his servants: Matth. 25:15: ”To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability.” I understand, that this ’ability’ is actually this real internal will, dream or vision to go forward which God has created in us. The final result is written later: Matth 25:21: ”His master replied: Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things Come and share your master’s happiness!’ ”
So we get the possible to do something very very much more, than in our life today. How much more it is ? One hint we can see in the Bible: 2.Peter 3:9; ”With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” This is only a hint, and it means that we get more than 365000 times the possibilities and the resources to execute our visions in Heaven. You can find an other hint in Bible: 1.Kor 2:9: ”However, as it is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” What is the multiplier between what we can not imagine and what is real in the heaven ? It can mean, that our visions, dreams, hopes, utopias can be over 365000 better than we can imagine. It also means, that our problems and impossible things today are over 365000 times smaller than we imagine.
After all, our will to go forward to the right direction is very very important. We have unlimited resources in Heaven: Rev 10:6: ”There will be no more delay”. There are no any time limits, no any weaknesses to realize our heavenly dreams and visions. The best work to describe it is perhaps ’reign’ as Rev 22:5: ”And they will reign for ever and ever. ” Do you really want to follow Jesus today ? Do you want to have the real and big meaning in your life today and for ever ?
